Tankless Water Heater Replacement Upgrade For A Suburban SW6DEL Water Heater

Question:

Hi, I am interested in a replacing my hot water heater with a tankless. I have a Suburban M# SW6DEL. I measured my cutout at 12 1/2 w x 12 3/4 h and have up to 24 deep. Do you have a slide in replacement for this? I have heard of tankless heaters that have mis-fire issues with low water flows and other problems that can be very annoying. Can you tell me about any problems I should be aware of before I buy a tankless? Thank you

The Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR98SR would work as a great tankless upgrade for your Suburban SW6DEL water heater.

This water heater has cutout dimensions of 12-5/8" long, 12-13/16" wide, and is 19-3/16" deep. This water heater is 1/8" taller, and 5/16" wider than your original water heater so you will need to make some slight modifications.

We do not carry any direct replacements for your SW6EL water heater, unfortunately. All of our water heaters will require some modification to fit.

As far as issues with tankless water heaters goes, I haven't heard of a whole lot of issues regarding low water flows, or mis-firing, however the Furrion # FR98SR has some features to combat some issues such as an internal alarm that will beep if there is any malfunction, and will display an error code.

This unit also has other internal safety features like:

- If the water temperature exceeds 149 degrees Fahrenheit, the unit will shut off power.

-If the flame goes out, the unit will cut off gas to prevent gas leaking inside your RV.

&

-This unit will allow the pressure to vent at 87 PSI so you do have excessive pressure and heat build-up.
