Can The Automatic Lift Be Disabled On The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent?
Question:
I currently have a fantastic fan with auto lift and thermostat which Im not happy with due to the constant squeaking from the motor brushes. Based on user forums this appears to be a consistent issue with their fans which they refuse to address. I disabled the powered vent lift on the fantastic fan since there is never a time when I want the fan to turn off and the lid to close. I always want the vent at least slightly open whether the fan is running or not. So would I be able to install this fan in a similar manner by disconnecting the wire to the power lift motor so that it is manual only? Or is it internally wired, or would doing so interfere with it operating correctly? Also is it true what some customers mention that the smoked vent cover actually allows more light than the white vent cover for maxxair fans?

There is actually a setting on the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-07000K. The powered lift can be turned off allowing you to manually lift your lid, so you don't need to disconnect the power wire.
Also, yes, since the smoked lid on the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan, Thermostat, and Remote # MA00-07500K is translucent, it will allow more light to enter versus the white lid on # MA00-07000K.
