How to Add an Additional 6-Way Connection With an Existing 7-Way at Rear of Vehicle
Question:
I would like to add a 6 way receptacle off an existing 7 way receptacle and be able to run 2 separate receptacles. Multiple trailers are used with different plugs and would like to avoid an adapter plug-in setup. Is it as simple as splicing into the the existing 7 way wiring and adding the a 6 way receptacle minus the the 1 wire / Pin?

Expert Reply:
That is correct, splicing into the existing 7-way will work. It would be the same concept as using a 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Wiring Harness like the # C56070 to run a 7-way to a truck bed, but without the plug and play. Instead of a truck bed you are running the additional connection to the bumper as well. You can use an adapter like the Adapter 4 Pole to 6 Pole # A10-6034VP and only connect the functions for the 6-way.
