When It comes to your 2018 Mazda 3 Hatchback The Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch # 24914 works perfect for you. It has a 1-1/4 by 1-1/4 inch opening, it's a class 1 hitch that can tow up to 2,000 pounds and has a tongue weight up to 200 pounds. Now I recommend to look in your manual to make sure how much your Mazda is rated for.
When it comes to the proper ball mount, The Draw-Tite Drawbar # 3593 will work for you. It is a class 1 mount that will work perfect with Draw-Tite Hitch # 24914. It includes the pin and clip. To finish your towing experience I also recommend either the 2 inch Hitch Ball # 19258 or the 1-7/8 inch Hitch Ball # 19256, both will work good with the Drawbar # 3593. You can also get a Locking Hitch pin # 5200. I would also recommend adding the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118405. This wiring is a simple plug and play installation that comes out as a 4 flat plug.
I have attached an installation video link for the hitch and trailer wiring below.
