Is Wedge Needed with B and W Patriot Slider when Using Pivoting Pin Box
Question:
I am getting ready to install this hitch on my 16 Silverado 2500 HD crew cab short box and intend to tow a 2022 Grand design Reflection 295RL that has an available turning pin box with a wedge. Upon reading the instructions from BandW it says not to use the wedge. Is it still ok to use if I don’t use the slider function on the hitch. I didn’t plan on it when I bought it but want the extra function of a slider if I haul another trailer down the road that doesn’t use a wedge and turning pin box. Thank you in advance for your help.

If you want to take advantage of the pivoting function of your pin box and not have to slide your hitch back when in parking lots you would need to use the wedge part # SWW-06 with your Patriot Slider # BWRVK3270. Otherwise if you don't use the wedge you'd have to lock out the pin box and then use the slider for additional turning clearance.
