Can I Carry Two 60 Lbs E-Bikes On A Travel Trailer With A Bumper Mounted Bike Rack

Question:

Looking for a bumper mounted 2” eBike rack, 2 bikes, that can be bumper mounted on a travel trailer. Max weight capacity of 120#. I see “wheel mount” and “frame mount” but no bumper mount. Thanks.

I have a solution for you. You can use something like the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2" Receiver for Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers - 7,500 lbs, part # D210. This can work for you if you are not using a weight distribution hitch. If you are using a weight distribution hitch, something like the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2" Hitch - 10" Drop/Rise - 10K, part # 325-GH-325, could work for you. You will need to make sure that adding the e-bikes will not make you exceed the maximum tongue weight of your tow vehicle.

If neither of the above options work, my suggestion would be to carry your e-bikes in your travel trailer or in the pickup bed of your truck, if that is your tow vehicle. Unfortunately, we do not have a bumper rack that can carry 60 lbs e-bikes. Nor do we have a rack that will work at the front of your tow trailer on the frame or near you trailer hitch for bikes that heavy. You will still be able to use something like the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount, part # TH903202, you attached to your question to transport you e-bikes on your tow vehicle when you get to the campsite.

I have included product description links and video review links below.
