Will Timbren Silent Ride For 7k Tandem Axles Affect Trailer Frame

Question:

I have a momentum 351m toy hauler. I really like the silent ride setup and want to get away from the leaf springs. With the current leaf spring set up the load is transferred between 3 points brother frame and suspension. How will changing from 3 points to the 1 larger single point effect the frame of the unit?

That's an interesting question, and I can see where you are coming from as a tandem axle trailer uses three hangers, but a trailer load isn't transferred between the hangers, it is transferred between the leaf springs via the equalizer. And you'll actually get improved load distribution with the Timbrens for 7k axles, which is the following part number:

- Timbren Silent Ride Suspension for Tandem Axle Trailers w/ 3" Round Axles # TSR7000T05

The reason why is the Silent Ride # TSR7000T05 uses a beam with a single pivot point like you mentioned, allowing the weight to transfer between your axles and tires immediately when needed. That point is a much smoother, more fluid process than the transfer occurring via equalizer, which is not smooth at all.

This will give you a more comfortable ride and your frame will feel the benefits too as it won't be as jarring, particularly on rougher roads.
