Replacement Hubs for Older Trailer with a 5 x 4-1/2 Lug Pattern

Question:

I have an old handmade trailer that has 4 lugs on 4” hubs. I would like to replace hubs with 5 lug x 4.5” dia hubs. The wheels are 13”. The spindles and hubs have a 1.25” dia seal ID and 1.000” dia x 4.125” long shaft for bearings. Bearings: Timken L44643 Seal: National 441319 Which hubs will allow this? I can send a sketch with dimensions if you need them. Thanks

Thanks for the dimensions and bearing numbers! Based on how specific you were I do not need a sketch. We have a couple of options for you depending on what kind of finish you are looking for.

For a standard finish you will want the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 item # 8-258BTUC1. These are sold individually and come with lug nuts and all bearings and seals required for installation.

For a galvanized finish that offers more protection you will need the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 - Galvanized item # AKIHUB-545-2-G-1K. These are also sold individually and come with lug nuts and all bearings and seals required for installation.

Don't forget your bearing grease. I recommend the Prime Guard Wheel Bearing Hi-Temp Red Grease item # L11380.
