Yes, the Electric Trailer Brake with Dust Shield - Self-Adjusting # AKEBRK-8R and # AKEBRK-8L are compatible with a Dexter 8-285 hub like the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 8-285-11UC3. This hub and drum assembly has a 12-1/4" x 3-3/8" drum and works with any 8,000 lb 12-1/4" brake assembly.

In order to determine the torque rating for the lug nuts on your trailer you will need to know check out the chart I attached that shows all of the torque specs for all the trailer lugs available based on stud size, wheel material and wheel size.
