Can a Trailer be Towed Using a Weight Distribution System Head But No Spring Bars
Question:
I have a Reese 12,000# Steadi-Flex WDH I ordered to tow a boat on a trailer with surge brakes long distances. For shorter distances, is it OK to use simply the shank and ball for towing if I choose not to utilize the spring bars? Basically I want to avoid having to buy another receiver ball mount for my hitch since I already have a pretty good one with the Reese system.

Yes, you can tow the trailer without the spring bars on your Reese Steadi-Flex weight distribution system, # RP66560. Doing so will not harm the system or trailer. It will just be like towing with a big, weird looking ball mount.
