The Swagman XTC4 Cross Country 2-Bike Rack, item # S64665, is not designed to be carried behind a trailer of any kind. The ride behind a trailer is significantly rougher than the ride when attached directly to the towing vehicle. The instructions for the bike rack state that, the purchaser is advised that the load created by rack and bicycles will exceed the strength of trailer or 5th wheel bumper, mounting location or the bike rack. The rack is not under warranty if mounted in this location.

We do have bike racks that are designed to be mounted behind travel trailer and RV setups. I will list a few below for you to review, and a link to our full selection for you.

Is there a comparable platform rack for a hitch receiver that you recommend. We have a hitch mounted to the back of our travel trailer but have to clear the spare and have children’s bikes.

We don't currently have any 4-bike platform racks available that are approved for use on a trailer. Since you have a spare tire, your best option will be with the Swagman XP # S64940. This rack features a generous distance of 12-1/2" from the hitch pin hole to the back of the upright. Take a measurement from the hitch pin hole on your trailer to the outermost edge of the spare tire. As long as it's less than 12-1/2" this rack will work perfectly.
