How to Route Wiring for Hopkins Backup Sensor # HM60100VA Into 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab
Question:
Newbie here. I would like to put these on my truck, but have a beginners question. How do I get the cabling into the cab for the speaker? Im trying to understand some of the comments from others, but dont quite understand. For example, Ive figured out how to route the wire from the back bumper, through the inside of the box, to be able to come out where the cab is, but whats a typical way to get it inside from there? Thanks for whatever guidance you can provide.

For the Hopkins License Bracket Mount Backup Sensor System, part # HM60100VA, typical pickup truck installations involve routing the cable from the rear of the vehicle underneath it along the driver-side frame rail (securing it with zip ties is recommended) and up into the engine compartment. From there it can be routed through an existing rubber wiring grommet into the passenger compartment.
For your reference, in a separate email I have forwarded a scanned pdf file of the complete installation instructions.
