Recommended Trailer Hitch For 2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime

Question:

Hi. I am looking at two similar trailer hitches that will, I believe, both work on the 2022 Rav4 Prime. Curt C66KR and Draw-Tite 36675. Can you confirm that both these hitches will fit?

We do have a great recommendation for you but it is neither of the receiver hitches you listed. Each of those will fit a 2019 to 2022 Toyota RAV4 but are not confirmed to fit the Prime model. For the 2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime, I suggest the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver, # e23ZR. This is a 2"x2" Class III rated hitch with a max tongue weight of 600 lbs. and a max gross trailer weight rating of 4,000 lbs. It is a bolt-on installation and all needed hardware is included. This will provide about 10" of ground clearance when installed. Please note the linked image.

If you intend to do some light towing with this hitch and not just bicycle rack or cargo carrier, you will need the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, # C56434. This T-connector plugs directly into your factory wiring and has a powered converter that reduces strain on wiring system. Simply plug in the T-connector and then run the hot lead directly to the battery connection.

And for a ball mount, I suggest the etrailer Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches with a 3/4" Rise or 2" Drop, # 989891. What I like about this that it is a very cost effective and durable ball mount and comes with both 1-7/" ball and the 2" ball.
