Identifying Functions of 7-Way on the Vehicle Connector and Trailer Connector

We have brown, yellow, white, red, black And green. The white white is arching does that mean its the auxiliary? Trying to wire a 7way plug

When wiring it is always better to test the function of the wires as opposed to match the wire connections color. Always match function to function, I recommend using a circuit tester like the # PTW2993 to verify the functions of the wire when activated.

I have attached several helpful articles that show the typical wiring functions for both the vehicle side and the trailer side plug for a 7-way system.

Typically, the white wire is the ground wire and should be grounded to an appropriate surface, if that is not connected correctly that might be why you are seeing an arc.

The black wire is usually a 12V auxiliary wire and is routed to the positive side of the vehicle battery with a 40 amp in-line circuit breaker installed like the # 9510.
