Can Thule Hullavators Carry Two 60 lb Kayaks

Question:

I have a 2016 Honda Odyssey with factory OEM Side Rails installed. I have Thule 45058 Crossroads roof rack package with a Hullavator 897XT. Im not sure the 58 rack is long enough, but maybe I dont have it adjusted right to hang 4 longer on one side. I was wondering if it is possible to put 2 hullavators with 2 60 lb kayaks on my crossbars since it is rated for 165 lbs only. On your website I saw that Inno Feet for Square Crossbars can get up to 220 lbs? Does that mean the feet are what the limit is for the 165? How long of crossbars and what feet and what crossbar could I use with 2 hullavators and 2 - 60 lb kayaks or is that even possible? Do you think my 58 inch bar should be long enough for the hullavator with one?

So your Thule Hullavator carriers 897XT weigh right at 20 lbs per carrier. So you'd have 40 lbs of carrier and 120 lbs of kayaks. That would mean you'd have 5 lbs of capacity to spare and would be technically safe.

Since Thule now uses a different square bar design and Inno happens to have exact same dimensions as the old Thule bars you could use the # INB165 for a longer set of 65 inch bars if needed. Also, it is the feet of the rack that is the capacity restriction.
