Installing Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751439 on 2010 Chevy Equinox

Question:

I can not release the panels to get to the brake bolt. I have removed three screws, the plastic fastener on the right, and can not get the panel under the steering wheel panel. I also do not see anything in common between picture B and C. Is it the same Vehicle? Do you have better pictures or more instructions. There are three panels in the instructions: Lower dash Panel2-7mm bolts, Front Panelpull out, Kick panel1-7mm and plastic fastener Lower kick panelsqueeze one plastic clip on each side Can you define these panels in pictures? Do you have pictures of these?

The Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751439 can fit both the Chevrolet Equinox and the GMC Terrain. It is possible that the photo illustrations in the instructions may show interior detail of more than one vehicle. My contact at Roadmaster confirmed this is often the case. The photos shown are general representative examples rather than exact literal illustrations of your particular year/make/model vehicle.

Also, auto makers may sometimes make minor revisions to vehicles, such as altering the fasteners used and their exact placement, from one model year to another. Such changes may not be reflected in the Roadmaster instructions.

If you can see that all fasteners/clips from any given kick panel have been removed/released then it may be necessary to apply some elbow grease to remove it. Often the flexibility of such panels means that they can (and need to) flex considerably in order to release from their mounting position.
Often such parts rely on friction as well as fasteners for attachment to the vehicle.
