Where to Start When Adding Brakes to a Trailer
Question:
I have a 2002 Karavan KKR-2500-78-S roller boat trailer that I would like to install brakes on. Can you please list all the parts I would need?

The first piece of information needed to add brakes to a trailer axle is to determine the correct hub/drum fit for the axle/spindle. That can be acquired by either getting the bearing numbers out of the hub, the spindle dimensions where the bearings ride, the axle capacity, or even the axle diameter. From there we'll need to know the wheel bolt pattern and with that we can pick out everything needed.
