What Hitch Receiver Do I Need for a Mobility Scouter on a 2016 Nissan Rogue?

Question:

My vehicle was totaled by a rear end collision. My new vehicle has no hitch to carry my 3-wheeled scooter. I have no idea of the weight of my scooter, but I know I weigh 260 and my carrier has a ramp. So do I need a cat 3 or 4 hitch?

Sorry to hear about your accident. For your application, I recommend going with the highest rated hitch receiver you can find for your vehicle. In our fitguide it says you have a 2016 Nissan Rogue. For that vehicle I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish item # e98846. You will want to verify with your owners manual what your Rogue's tongue weight capacity is, but this hitch receiver has a 525 lbs tongue weight capacity. That is the highest rated amongst the hitches that fit your Rogue and it is a class III. I hope this answered your question.
