Since this is a ventless hot water heater can this unit be laid down flat where you take the old 6 gallon heater out.

According to the manufacturer, the Excel RV Tankless On-Demand Water Heater - Gas - Electric Ignition - Ventless - 38,000 Btu # EX93FR needs to be installed upright with the vent facing upwards.

Also it shouldn't be installed in a bedroom or a bathroom.
