Can I Carry A Yakima CBX 16 On My 2021 Subaru Crosstrek With A Yakima RailBar
Question:
I saw the video with the Yakima CBX 16 solar installed on a Subaru Crosstrek 2021. The CBX appeared to be installed on a raised Rhino crossbar system. Do you know if the the CBX 16 will fit a Crosstrek with the lower profile Railbar system? I checked Yakima and they note that it is incompatible. I dont have a sun roof, so that would not be an issue. Is clearance of the shark fin antenna the issue? Thanks for any info you can provide.

Yakima's RailBar system needs to have at least 1-3/4" between the roof and the bottom of the RailBar. If that measurement is less than 1-3/4", none of the Yakima roof top cargo boxes will fit on this roof rack. If you went with this Rhino-Rack rack instead,

you will be able to carry the Yakima CBX Solar Rooftop Cargo Box - Solar Panel - 16 Cubic Ft - Black, part # Y76FR, on the roof of your vehicle. This roof rack will have a weight limit of 165 lbs. In order to open your rear hatch with the CBX on your roof rack, you need to have at least 45" between the front crossbar and the line where the roof and the hatch meet. Please keep in mind, if you do not have the 45", you can still carry the CBX on your vehicle. You just will not have access to the rear of the vehicle while the box is on your vehicle.
