What is the third, white wire for? instructions tell me about the green and brown.

The white wire on the LED trailer tail light # STL8RB is the ground wire. It will need to attach to a clean and corrosion free bare metal surface. I have included a link to a video review of this light for you. The matching left side tail light is # STL9RB.
