Can I wire this jack to the battery on my trailer rather than wiring harness on tow vehicle?

The Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack # JET-5000 can be wired either to the auxiliary 12V power circuit on your tow vehicle 7-way or directly to the battery on your trailer which is actually preferable. Connecting it to the trailer battery is preferred since it keeps wiring runs shorter and offers power to the jack when the vehicle is disconnected. This jack directly bolts on to A-frame trailers.
This Husky product includes an auto-stop feature to prevent damage to its gears, three LED lights to provide better nighttime visibility as well as the low-friction ball bearing screw system to minimize power consumption (it draws only about 2/3 of the power required by typical powered jacks). It also includes 6 feet of power wire and a 30-amp fuse.
