Can I Carry A Rooftop Cargo Box And A Kayak On The Roof Of My 2011 Nissan XTerra

Hi there, I’ve been searching for sometime to find a cargo box that would fit on a 2011 OEM Nissan Xterra roof rack and leave room for a kayak carrier any kind that would fit. It would be a bonus if it would still allow access to the Integrated Xterra roof box but as of now I have had no success in finding a Cargo Carrier short and thin enough to accommodate this. I would appreciate any info. Cheers.

The crossbars on your 2011 Nissan Xterra measure 32-1/2" from inside rail to inside rail. After doing some research, I have been unable to find a rooftop cargo box that will be able to fit next to a kayak on the roof of your vehicle. Even the Thule Force XT Sport Rooftop Cargo Box - 11 cu ft - Black AeroSkin, part # TH6356B, that you attached to your question will not provide enough roof for you to carry a kayak next to it. This rooftop cargo box has an exterior width of 24-3/4", leaving you with 7-3/4" for a kayak carrier, this is not enough space for a kayak carrier. Your only option is to get an aftermarket roof rack.
The roof rack that I recommend will consist of the following parts.
Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 46" Long - Qty 2 # RRVA118B-2
Rhino-Rack SX Series Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars - Raised Factory Side Rails - Qty 4 # RRSX008
This roof rack will have a weight limit of 165 lbs. It comes with elliptical shaped crossbars to help reduce wind noise and aid with fuel efficiency. The crossbars are 46" long, so you will have room for a kayak carrier and a rooftop cargo box. The Thule Force XT Sport Rooftop Cargo Box - 11cu ft, you attached to your question will work.
The kayak carrier that I recommend is the etrailer J-Style Kayak Carrier - Folding - Universal Mount, part # e98878. It comes with two cam straps and bow and stern tie-downs.
