5th Wheel Hitch Recommendation for Short Bed 2022 Ram 3500 SWR
Question:
I recently bought a 2022 ram 3500, short bed, srw. I am going to be pulling at 2022 Forest river Sabre 37FLL. I was interested in the Andersen ultimate hitch, is there anything you can help recommend. This is my first time hauling.

For any short bed truck, such as your 2022 Ram 3500 SWR, I always recommend either a sliding hitch or rotating pin box. Therefore before buying a hitch for the tow vehicle, I suggest you discover what pin box is on the 2022 Forest river Sabre 37FLL. If you have a rotating turret type, like a Sidewinder or Turning Point, on your fifth wheel then the Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch System with Adapter, # AM3200, is not an option as this cannot be used with that type pin box. If you have a fixed type pin box then I still suggest you go with something different as the 2022 Forest river Sabre 37FLL is a rather large 5th wheel and will cause a lot of chucking and a very rough ride for you trying to use this hitch.
If you have a fix position pin box and the Ram truck is equipped with the OEM Prep Package/Puck system, I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider for Ram Towing Prep Package, # BWRVK3670. This is specially designed to attach to the receivers in your factory 5th-wheel towing prep package, the slider base on this hitch helps eliminate clearance concerns during slow-speed turns. If you do not have the Puck System, then I suggest the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider, # BWRVK3400-5W and the Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches, # BWGNRK1320-5W.
If your 5th wheel RV has a rotating turret type pin box and the Ram truck is equipped with the OEM Prep Package/Puck system, I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package, # BWRVK3600. Like the slider type listed above, this is specially designed to attach to the receivers in your factory 5th-wheel towing prep package. For a rotating turret pin box but without the puck system, use the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, # BWRVK3500-5W and the Custom Underbed Installation Kit, # BWGNRK1320-5W.
