Troubleshooting an Over Braking Issue w/ the Echo Brake Controller
Question:
We have the Echo Brake controller and noticed that the brakes are very sensitive- we are screeching wheels every time we put the brakes on- even if is very lightly to slow down Note: We do have the Curt Echo set at the lowest setting to get it home during our last trip but you can still feel the tug when we brake. Someone told us they were self adjusting???? By placing the towing vehicle on reverse and putting on the brakes? The Echo will reset? I would really appreciate your help! Thank you in advance. Ps- the trailer is pretty new- 5 months old. It was doing well until our last trip.

I have a solution for you that will reset your Curt Echo item # C51180 but no reversing and putting on the brakes doesn't do anything. You will need to start by first unplugging the Echo and then unplugging the trailer 7-way from the Echo. Then you will want to delete the app from your phone and then reinstall it. Afterwards plug the Echo into vehicle 7-way (by itself) until the Echo has a solid blue light. This should resolve the braking issue.
