Recommended Auto Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch For 2022 Ford F-350 With OEM Prep Package And Short Bed

Question:

I finally upgraded my truck to a something new and now I need a 5th wheel hitch for it. It's a brand new 2022 F-350 Super Duty and it came with the factory puck system/prep package. Like my previous truck it is a short bed, so I need a slider hitch. However, I am sick of having to get out and unlock the hitch so it will slide back and then having to get out again to unlock it again and let it slide forward. That gets real old when it's raining and cold. I have seen a few of the auto sliding hitches on the road and people seem to really like them. Is there an option to do this with my new truck? Camper weighs just under 20,000 pounds fully loaded so it will have to be able to handle that kind of weight. Thanks in advance.

If you are tired of having to get out to operate a manual slide 5th wheel hitch, we have just what you need. The Demco Hijacker Autoslide # DM8550038 is rated up to 21,000 pounds so it will have no issue handling your camper. The head on this will clamp onto the king pin, for the lack of a better way to put it, and it will keep it from rotating, but will then allow the actual head to rotate and slide back when making a sharp turn. This does have to be quite the angle and it will not happen while driving on a highway or anything like that. It will make life significantly easier and let you enjoy the climate control in the cab of your new truck.

Last thing to mention, this is designed to fit the puck system on your new 2022 Ford F-350 as well. It locks right in place so the install and removal is much easier. With that said, it's heavy. Like, over 300 pounds heavy. As most of us do not compete in strong man competitions, I recommend setting up a pully system if you will need to remove this with any kind of regularity. The Demco Lifting Bracket # DM6100 makes this task a lot easier as well.
