Recommended Vents For An Enclosed Box Truck hauling Horses

Question:

Hi, Im wanting to put vents in my fully enclosed horse truck Im in New Zealand. Id like to maximise airflow for four horses, angle loaded. The truck has a thin aluminium skin over a steel frame. Im trying to figure out if the square vents would provide enough flow if I had 4 on each side, along both sides of the truck towards the ceiling? Thanks!

Helpful Expert Reply:

The Vent for Enclosed Trailers - Aluminum - 12-1/4" Wide x 10-1/2" Tall # PLR20 is the largest wall vent we offer so it should offer your horses quite a bit more airflow. The sliding lever allows you to easily open and close the vent to adjust airflow. The aluminum construction is durable, lightweight, and corrosion resistant.

Another option you might consider would be to install the Redline 2-Way Pop-Up Roof Vent with Garnish for Enclosed Trailers - Aluminum # RV-626-062-2756 on the roof to add even more airflow. This rust-proof aluminum pop-up vent opens in either of 2 directions so you can scoop in fresh air or keep out rain no matter which way the wind is blowing. Included interior garnish adds a finished look to your trailer's interior as well.
