Recommended Replacement Struts for Storage Compartments

Question:

Hello. I looking for storage compartment struts. How do I determine the pressure of my struts. The numbers don’t seem to tell what they are. Local stores aren’t much help. Thanks Tom

Unless the force is specifically listed on your current strut, it is unlikely that you will be able to find the exact pressure. There is no standard for the numbers printed on them. For storage compartments, I would recommend a strut with 10-20 lbs of force like the Gas Shock - 10 lb Force - 20" Extended, 11.41" Compressed - Black Nitride # 372-5300-10 or Gas Shock - 20 lb Force # 372-5300-20. You will want to measure the length in order to find the right size.

I have attached two different links for gas struts of varying lengths for your reference. One is for all of the struts we have available with 10 lbs of force and the other is for 20 lbs of force.
