How Do You Disable The Reverse Automatic Emergency Braking On A 2021 Subaru Ascent When Towing

I got the Curt hitch for My 21 Subaru Ascent after installation My reverse automatic braking light came on on the dash. Is there any way to recalibrate this? Or at least shut it off? Thank you

I did some research and did find a way to turn it off, but there is not a way to calibrate the system to recognize "common" items and this will need to be done every time the vehicle is restarted.

With that said, what you need to do is when you put the vehicle in reverse, the camera will appear on your dash monitor. In the lower right hand corner of said monitor, you will see a green P with several curved lines radiating out from it and ON directly underneath it. All you need to do is press that until P is no longer green and OFF is now underneath it. This will deactivate the system and allow you to tow with your Curt # C13400 nice and quietly.
