Best Bike Carrying Hitch for 2020 Subaru Ascent
Question:
What would be the best hitch to use on my 2020 Subaru Ascent for carrying a bike rack?

There are 2 what I would refer to as front running hitch choices for the 2020 Subaru Ascent, the Draw-Tite Class III hitch, part # 76253 and the Curt Class III, part # C13400. There are two primary differences between the two, although one of them is a moot point.
The Draw-Tite hitch is a concealed design, which means that the majority of the hitch will be concealed behind the rear bumper and fascia, behind a removable panel unless the hitch is being used, for what most believe is a better appearance. However, this makes for a more involved installation as the bumper cover and beam will need to be removed as the hitch is designed to take the place of the bumper. The Draw-Tite has a higher tongue weight capacity by 75 lbs, but the tongue weight capacity of the vehicle when properly equipped with a transmission cooler is 500 lbs so the increased tongue rating wouldn't provide any utility for you.
The Curt hitch will be fully visible below the rear bumper, but because of its design, it would be much easier to install which is important if you'll be doing the install yourself.
When it comes down to it, the differences between the two are a matter of aesthetics and difficulty of install. I've provided a photo showing what both hitches look like when installed as well as links to installation videos.
