Second Vehicle Kit for Roadmaster BrakeMaster Kit Install in 2011 Jeep Wrangler

Question:

I have lightly used 2021 Allegro Breeze and previous owners had Roadmaster system installed. Air supply and led brake active light are on the coach and I assume all the coach side items are still in place. Would this be the item needed to install all the towed vehicle parts? 2011 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Tow bar and independent brake lights already installed on the Jeep.

Since your 2021 Allegro Breeze has the motorhome components of the Roadmaster BrakeMaster # RM-9160 what you'd need for the rest of the components is the Second Vehicle Kit part # RM-98160.

Like the price of that kit but it's not right. I need all the parts for the tow vehicle including the brake actuator cylinder. So I think I'm back to getting the full kit and will have extra MH parts.

There is some mixing of terms between "towing vehicle" and "towed vehicle" that I might be misunderstanding. Let me just point out the parts you may need and you can figure out which ones that you already have. For the 2011 Jeep Wrangler Sahara you state that you already have a tow bar. Do you have the base plates where the tow bar attaches to the jeep? If not you will need the etrailer e98949 base plate kit for use with standard factory bumper. You say you already have a tow bar. What is the brand and model? Depending on brand and model we may need an adapter for it to connect to the base plates. Did your tow bar come with safety cables? I would recommend the Roadmaster # RM-645 which are 64” long and rated for 8000 pounds. I like that the connectors are made so they cannot bounce off the cable hooks. I also prefer the straight cables compared to coiled – it just looks cleaner when they are all tucked away. Next you will need a flat tow wiring kit. I recommend the Roadmaster # RM-152-98146-7 Universal wiring kit which includes everything you need to connect your RV's tail, brake, and turn signal lights to your towed car. Diodes prevent feedback and wire your car to operate as a combined system. Includes a 7-way to 6-way straight adapter cord. When you do finally get ready to plug your electrical cables in, I would put a little Edelmann # 11755 dielectric grease on those connections. The dielectric grease will keep help keep moisture and corrosion out of your connections. Your Jeep will also need a battery disconnect kit # RM-766. Finally you will need a supplemental braking system in the Jeep. You seem to prefer the Roadmaster # RM-9160, full kit. I hope this is helpful.
