Carrying Kids Bikes On A 2022 Jeep Wrangler With The Malone Hanger Spare Tire Rack MPG2147
Question:
I recently got a 2022 Wrangler and am very interested in the Malone Hanger Spare Tire Rack MPG2147. The only thing is, I will need to carry 2 kids bikes along with my own. I have used hanging type bike racks with my bike in the past, so I know that will be fine, but the kids bikes are a new thing for me. Will this rack work?

The Malone Hanger Spare Tire Bike Rack # MPG2147 is definitely a good option and is very popular among Jeep Wrangler owners. I do need to mention that this will only fit tires that are 8" to 10-1/2" wide, so you will want to double check that before deciding to go this way. With that out of the way, lets talk bikes.
The # MPG2147 is rated up to 33 pounds per bike, which should not be an issue in your case, but the size of the frames may be. From outside to outside of the arms that will hold the frames will measure 17-1/4" and can be wider than the frames of some kids bikes. If this is the case, you will need an adapter bar like the Malone # MPG2165. This will attach to the seat post and the handle bar stem, giving you a much wider area for the rack to attach to.
