Fit of Malone Steel Stop Square Bar Roof Rack on 2005 Toyota Highlander

Question:

Hi, is there a reason why the 50 inch crossbars system does not fit my 2005 Toyota Highlander with raised rails? The fitment say it is not a fit but the 58in bars fit. I find that odd since the 50 inch crossbars works on other Toyota suv. I measured my rails from one end to the other and it is 44 inches. I would think the 50 inch crossbars should work for my vehicle. Thank you

According to Malone, the angle of the roof rack feet would prevent the 50 inch long # MPG201 from fitting, which is why they recommend using the 58 inch # MPG202 or the 65 inch # MPG203 instead. In order to fit on the raised rails on your Highlander, the feet would need to be slid apart too far, and wouldn't be all the way attached to the crossbar.

I've linked to a product demonstration/install video that you might find helpful.
