Is a Fuse Required for the Bulldog 4,400 Lb Winch Trailer Winch
Question:
Is the controller fused or do I need to put a fuse in line from the battery? If so, what size etc and do you sell a kit? How long are the battery leads? What kind of batteries does the remote operate with? Are the contacts on the motor protected with anything to keep them from shorting against something? I will be towing a 2500 pound race car into a enclosed trailer with a beaver tail and a shallow ramp. Thank you.

In regards to the Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch part # BDW15020, the remote hooks up to the junction box which has power leads that run to the battery. The junction box houses a circuit breaker so there is no in-line fuse needed, simply hook the power leads up to the battery and that's it. The power wires are 6' long. There are covers over the contacts to prevent short circuits.
In regards to the Wireless Remote Kit for Bulldog Winch 3400 and 4400 Trailer Winches part # BDW20212, this uses a single AA battery.
