To install a brake controller in your 2012 Ford F-150 with the factory 7-way all you need is a brake controller like our Brake EVN # TK63VR and an install harness part # 22292 and you'd be set. The harness plugs into the back of the controller and in a port under your dash and you'd be set.

The reason I recommend the Brake EVN is because it's a proportional brake controller which senses how hard you apply the vehicle brakes and applies the trailer brakes with a similar intensity and because of how reliable it is.
