Rhino Roof Rack and Thule Canoe Carrier for Leer 180 Truck Shell

Question:

Hi, Im getting a new Leer 180 shell for my truck 2002 Ford SD EXcab 8foot bed and it will have Thule tracks installed. What are all the parts that I will need to put a Rhino rack on it? I will be using it to haul lumber and ladders and sometimes our canoe. Thanks

I have a great solution for a Rhino Roof rack on your new Leer 180 shell and an attachment for hauling a canoe. I recommend the Rhino-Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells item # Y02-480B. They have a weight capacity of 220 lbs, track length of 63" per side, and the cross bar dimensions are 54" long x 3-1/2" wide x 1-1/2" tall with a leg height of 3". The two RTC-style tracks with dual C-channels provide adjustable mounting points for your roof-rack legs. The tracks mount to your Leer 180 Shell with T-bolts. The stainless steel construction has an anti-corrosion coating. The endcaps provide a finished look for the tracks. I have linked a review video and a picture of what the Rhino Roof Rack looks like mounted on a truck shell.

For hauling your canoe I recommend the Thule Portage Canoe Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - Gunwale Brackets - Side Loading item # TH819. These universal-mount gunwale brackets provide a simple solution for transporting a canoe on your roof rack crossbars. The durable brackets have ramped sides for easy loading, and the padded bases ensure safe passage for your canoe. Tie-downs are included with these brackets.

You could also attach directly to the Thule tracks using the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack for Thule and Yakima Tracks - 2 Heavy-Duty Crossbars - Black - 54" Long item # Y01-120B-NT
