Is Automatic Leveling Ground Control System a Fit for Off-Road or Overland Trailer

Question:

Will this work for an off-road or overland camper like a Rockwood 232ESP? it already has heavy duty leveling scissor jacks on it but the height is far more than 12 inches from the ground normally if its on level ground. enough for me to go clear under it without deploying the jacks and have plenty of room to move around and do these auto on uneven ground? will they drop one and if 1 or 2 only needs to drop 5 or 6 inches to the ground on that side, will it do so and the rest will drop down however much they need to? and is it configurable how much they will lift once they hit the ground?

The Electric Ground Control TT Automatic 5-Point Travel Trailer Leveling System # LC672136 is a universal application for travel trailers with a GVWR up to 10,000 lbs. The rear jacks will sit below your frame about 9-1/2" so when the full 12" of travel are added to that you're looking at about 21-1/2" of space that they will take up.

These will level your trailer on uneven ground (each jack will extend to what it needs to) but you still want to try to find a fairly level spot to park in. If you were to park in really rough terrain or on a steep slope there may not be enough travel on the rear legs for your trailer to be leveled out safely.

You also have the ability to switch the system to manual mode so that you can adjust individual jacks as needed.

I've attached an installation video on a 2018 Jayco trailer that you can check out. Our installer does a great job at talking about how to measure and properly install this system.
