Will Installing B&W Underbed Gooseneck Trailer HItch Increase Capacity on 2018 GMC Sierra Denali
Question:
Im being told by the dealer that this truck can only pull 13,500 lb from the gooseneck ball. Is this because this is the factory set up? If we remove that and install a B and W, will the rating capacity go up to at least 20,000 pounds?

I'm not sure which 2018 GMC Sierra Denali you have, as in 1500, 2500 or 3500. I recommend you consult your owner's manual to find the towing capacity for your specific truck. It sounds to me like this is what the dealer was referencing. Even though the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit # BWGNRK1016 has a gross towing weight of 30,000 lbs you will be limited by the overall towing capacity of your vehicle.
If you find that this is higher than 13,500 lbs, I recommend contacting the dealer again and asking them to specify what they meant, specifically if that was the capacity of the hitch installed in your truck. If that is the case, you could upgrade to the # BWGNRK1016 and gain additional capacity up to 30,000 lbs. Again, you would be limited by the capability of your truck.
