Swagman Bike Rack with More Shank Clearance than Swagman Traveler XC2
Question:
Based on the hitch location on my Montana 3121CK Legacy, I may need to add an extension to get the bike rack further back to mount the bikes. Are there any issues with adding a hitch extension with this rack?

Expert Reply:
We don't like to recommend hitch extensions for bike racks that are going to be used at the rear of travel trailers as a first option as they add quite a bit of movement and leverage on the hitch. So instead of using the # S64663 with one I would recommend going with a similar RV rated bike rack that has more clearance.
Like with the Swagman Nomad part # S36FR which has 11-7/8 inches from the pin hole to the nearest portion of the rack which would much more easily fit without an extension.
