Will Curt or Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch For My 2021 Honda Passport Install In The Bumper Like OEM Hitch
Question:
I am looking for a trailer hitch receiver and see you have a curt and draw-tite option. Will either of them install in the bumper like the factory hitch?

Expert Reply:
Neither the Curt # C13421 or Draw-Tite # 76290 trailer hitch receivers you were looking at for your 2021 Honda Passport will mount through the bumper like the factory hitch would.
These receivers mount just under the bumper and leave just the receiver itself visible once installed. If you are alright with that then I recommend going with the # C13421 as the absolute max possible towing capacity of your Passport based on its options is 5,000lbs which lines up with the 750lb tongue weight and 5,000lb trailer weight rating of this hitch. You will want to check the towing section of your owner's manual to determine your exact towing capacity.
In addition this hitch is made here in the USA and has what we have found to be the strongest powder coat finish helping it better resist chips and scratches.
If you will be towing a trailer with your Passport you will also need a vehicle wiring harness # C56291 if your trailer has a 4-way connector, the # 118291 if your trailer has a 7-way connector, and a ball mount, hitch ball, and hitch pin and clip which can all be found in the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900.
I included a picture of how the # C13421 looks installed along with videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
