RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack Fit Front Hitch and Carry Beach Cruiser
Question:
I recently installed a 2” front hitch receiver onto my 2006 F-150 with a 500 LB tongue weight weight capacity. I have 2 Schwinn Steel Frame 7-speed Beach Cruiser bikes with 26” wheels. I am seeking a safe and durable bike rack system to carry just the two above Beach Cruiser bikes on the front hitch of the F-150 to allow access to the truck bed for additional loading and unloading. Is your RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack Item # RKY10004 Hitch Rack appropriate/safe for use on that front hitch with those two Steel Framed Beach Cruiser Bikes? Each bike has a Blackburn rear rack and front basket mounted as shown below and comes in at a weight of 50 Lbs. each bike with 26x 2.25inch Tires Additionally, can the bikes be mounted on your RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack with both the baskets and rear racks still installed? Also Would an anti-rattle device be needed if RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack is mounted on that front hitch to minimize sway due to wind effects at highway speed?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # RKY10004 would work great in a 2 inch front hitch like what you have installed on your 2006 Ford F-150 and will do a great job carrying your beach cruisers that have 26 inch wheels and baskets. The hook that holds this would easily slip under your basket to grab the tire. This can fit bikes with up to a 29 inch diameter wheel and also carry bikes that weigh up to 60 lbs per bike.
This comes with it's own anti-rattle device too so you would not need to get one in addition to that.
