How to Carry Fat Tire E-Bikes at Rear of 5th Wheel Camper

Question:

I am considering using a hitch cargo carrier on the back of a 5th wheel to carry heavy fat tire ebikes, rather than a typical bike rack. Can some of those ground mount bike rack/holders work with this type of carrier, or similar?

We have the Bike Rack Adapter # CC-125 which can be used with a cargo carrier like the Stromberg Carlson # CC-100, but it can only work with tires up to 2-1/4" wide. So if you wanted to use a carrier like the etrailer # e98874 you would basically have to resort to securing the bikes to the carrier using straps.

My only concern about this is that 5th wheels tend to have more movement at the rear and since the only thing keeping your e-bikes secured to the carrier will be some ratchet straps I would advise you to go with the Hollywood Racks RV Rider # HLY64FR instead because it's designed specifically for your purpose, can fit up to 5" wide tires, and will have a much more secure hold on your bikes.

Attached are some videos for you to check out.
