Replacement Idler Hub for Boat Trailer With 3500 lb Axle
Question:
I have a boat trailer with one 3500lb axel. Should both hubs be rated for 3500lbs or should your hubs be each rated for 1750lbs for a combined 3500?

For a 3500 lb axle, each hub would be rated for 1750 lbs, but would still be referred to as a '3500 lb hub'. If your existing hub uses a L68149 inner and a L44649 outer hub with an Inner Diameter of 1.378 and 1.063 inches respectively, you do indeed have a typical 3500 lb axle and the etrailer branded # AKIHUB-545-35-K hub would be the correct replacement, assuming your existing wheels have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern.
This being said, since this is for a boat trailer, I'd recommend using a galvanized hub like # AKIHUB-545-35-G-K for the additional corrosion protection it would offer.
The hubs include the inner and outer bearing, grease seal, inner and outer races, grease cap and lug nuts.
If you're unsure of your bolt pattern, I'll link to a help article that will help you identify the bolt pattern of your wheels.
