Can the Thule Outbound Cargo Bag Fit on the Cross Bars of a 2012 Subaru Outback

Question:

I have a 2012 Subaru outback with roof rails and cross bars. Do I also need some sort of tray to set under the cargo bag, or are the factory installed rails and cross bars sufficient to attach the bag directly to? I have a pad to put under the bag between the bag and the metal rooftop to hopefully prevent rubbing

The Thule Outbound Expandable Roof Top Bag # TH868 that you referenced is designed to attach to cross bars so it should work well on your 2012 Subaru Outback. It is also a good call to use a pad like our part # RL100650 to prevent the bag from scratching the roof if any dirt was to get between the roof and the bag.
