What E-Bike Carrier Do You Recommend For 2013 Itasca Navion iQ Motorhome And A Toyota 4Runner

Question:

Mark S answered my previous question but a follow- up, please. I think the Yakima will be too heavy for me to move between my vehicles. Is there a lighter weight carrier available? Maybe Saris Superclamp HD which I think is out of stock everywhere?? I bought the Yakima but it’s heavy and to use with RV, the weight/capacity is downgraded. Here’s what I need: RV approved 2 e-bikes, step-thru At least 100 lb capacity Holds bike by wheels rather than frame About 35 lbs Integrated locks Tilt preferred Thanks

I took a look at all of our hitch bike racks rated to carry e-bikes and are motorhome compatible. We only have one rack that weighs under 40 lbs, secures the bikes by the wheels, and is motorhome compatible. It is the rack you mentioned in your question, the Saris SuperClamp HD 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount, part # SAR44VR. Our next best option is the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount, part # KU84FR.

For starters it is motorhome compatible. While it is not 35 lbs, it is still less than 50 lbs. It meets all the other requirements you need. It can carry bikes up to 60 lbs. It holds the bikes by the wheels and not the frame. It comes with an integrated cable lock to secure your bikes to the rack. The rack can be tilted down with the foot pedal, even when loaded with bikes so you always have access to the rear of your vehicle. In addition, it has an anti-rattle hitch device that eliminates movement between your hitch receiver and the bike rack while locking the bike rack to your vehicle.

I have included a product description link and a video review link below.
