Does Fifth Wheel Hitch for Flat Bed Truck Require Slider

Question:

Ive seen a few questions answered but no part of the 9x8-ft flat bed having clearance is mentioned. Do i need a slider. If i get a pin box like you guys have mentioned that wont change the length and corners will still hit.

If you had a flat bed that was 9 foot by 8 foot you would not need a slider hitch for turning clearance as the sliders really only are needed if the bed is shorter than 8 feet. This is why the low profile flat bed hitches we have like the Reese # RP30054 that you referenced are not available as sliders. You might see issues with the corners of the truck bed hitting the trailer though if the length of the bed was added behind the rear axle and not in front since standard long bed is 8 foot.
