The Propane Adapter Fitting, # 37207-30125 is simply a fitting that lets you adapt your old-style POL propane cylinder to be used with a Type 1 ACME connector. It does not regulate or restrict flow in any controlled.

You're right the propane gauge you purchased, part #CAM59023, connects using a Type 1 connector. But your tank needs a POL. All you need is an adapter part #37207-30125.
