Recommended Suspension Enhancement for 2000 Ford E-250 Van with Wheelchair Lift and Trailer in Tow
Question:
Help with the suspension on a 2000 Ford Conversion Van. It is a e- 250. I am disabled and need to use a chair to get around. We use the van not only for every day driving but to pull our 23 foot trailer. It is equipped with a lift which weighs near 1000 pounds by itself. We had new suspension shocks put on six months ago, and it still rides like a skateboard. It also tilts to the heavy side. What would you recommend that I have installed to hopefully level the van out, pull my trailer and improve the ride?

I recommend using the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers - Rear Axle # AL88138 which will help you level out front to back but also help with side to side tilt by inflating the bags to different pressures based on needs. These air bags have internal jounce bumpers to improve ride comfort, reduce sway, and help with cornering in addition to the leveling help.
In order to keep the bags inflated I recommend adding an on-board compressor system like the Air Lift Load Controller I Compressor System for Air Helper Springs - Dual Path # AL25651. This is a dual path system that will allow you to inflate the bags individually to compensate for the off center loads you might have with your chair lift, so it's the perfect complement to the LoadLifter 5000 bags. This system comes with analog gauges with switches to allow you to inflate the bags from the comfort of your van, so you'll always have full customization of your ride quality at your fingertips.
I've linked some review videos of these parts for you to check out as well.
