Recommended Weight Distribution System for Grand Design Transcend Xplor 245RL
Question:
I have a 2010 Ford F-150 Supercab 5.4L V8 with a GVWR of 7200lbs. I attached a picture of the sticker inside my door if that helps. The sticker under the factory hitch says weight distributing max trailer weight is 10,500lbs. I attached a picture of that also. My question is Im looking at a travel trailer that has a UVW of 6,412lbs and is about 31 feet front to back. I have a sticker from the side of the camper I attached. Would my truck be able to pull this ok and what weight distribution hitch system would you recommend? Also would I need some sort of sway bar? Thanks

The weight distribution system I recommend for a Grand Design Transcend Xplor 245RL is the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System part # C17500 which has integrated sway control and an included pre-torqued hitch ball. The Transcend Xplor 245RL has a GVWR of around 8,000 lbs which will be right in the middle of this system. Sway control isn't required but it's a huge added benefit in regards to performance.
In regards to towing capability, if the max capacity of the vehicle exceeds the weight of the trailer then you'll be good to go. If you don't know the towing capacity of the vehicle you'll have to look in the owner's manual. There will be a few different capacities based on cab size, bed length, engine size, etc.
