Recommended E-Bike Rack for 2021 Winnebago View
Question:
I havent purchased the ebikes yet, but wanted to get a bike rack that would work for that. I have a 21 Winnebago View. I would prefer a rack that doesnt have frame contact. There are several that look interesting Hollywood racks trs Rockymounts monorail Saris Superclamp hd2 Any others you would recommend? I have seen on some videos clearance issues between handlebars and back of motorhome. How do i figure that out? Also on the Saris it says 2, then says 11/4 or 2. I would before 2inch only, which is it? Sorry for the vagueness of my question, just want to get the one that will work best for me. thank you

The Saris SuperClamp HD 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # SAR44VR is what I recommend since it mounts the bikes by the wheels and has 12" from the center of the hitch pin hole on the receiver to the closest point of the bike rack; this will reduce chances the bikes will contact the rear of the coach. This rack is rated for RV use and can carry bikes up to 60-lbs each, so it's great for heavy e-bikes. When it says this can be used on 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, there is an adapter included for the shank that allows it to fit snugly inside a 2" receiver.
When it comes to determining clearance, you'll want to measure from the hitch pin hole on the receiver to the edge of the bumper; as long as your hitch doesn't sit too far back from the rear of the vehicle then you shouldn't have any problems.
If you measure from the hitch pin hole and find that you need more than 12" clearance, let me know and I can look to see if there is an alternative solution for this.
